Kokshetau hosts the anniversary exhibition of the Chairman of the Union of Artists of the Akmola region, Honored Worker of Culture of Kazakhstan, Honorary Worker of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, artist, sculptor, teacher, Professor Yuri Popov, reports 716.kz.

According to the artist himself, the exhibition is doubly jubilee: on July 19 he celebrated his 75th birthday, and on August 16 it was exactly 50 years since he came from Moscow to work in Kokshetau.

"The exposition of the exhibition includes paintings, ceramics, photographs of significant sculptures and mosaic works. Due to the fact that the hall is small, we tried to accommodate as many works as possible in it in order to illuminate the entire creative path. Therefore, the paintings of different periods, but only what was done in the last two or three years was taken from ceramics. The exposition that turned out is entirely the merit of the museum staff," Yuri Popov shared.

For his creative activity and active work, the artist was awarded the medal of the Republican Union of Artists, which was solemnly presented to him at the opening of the exhibition by the head of the Department of Culture of the Akmola region Aigul Sabitova.

But for the artist himself, it is important how the viewer evaluates him.

"It all depends on the viewer – who likes what more. Today overloads us with events, sometimes causes irritation, and I wanted that when a person entered the hall, he received inner peace. Summer, dawn, clouds… To make a person feel it. That is, everything should create such a mood. To judge whether it turned out, the viewer himself," the artist added.
