Yerbosyn Meldibekov's exhibition "The point becomes a circle, or dark ghosts of a bright future" will run until March 16.

The exhibition features sculptures, installations and photographs. Curator: Dastan Kozhakhmetov.

The main theme of Yerbosyn Meldibekov's works is comprehension of political processes in Central Asia. But the artist's idea begins with a point and a circle: "For Meldibekov, point and circle are quite physical and material objects, and the idea of the circle as a closed, cyclical movement has visual proof in historical events and the fate of the participants of these events", explain the organizers of the exhibition in the book.

One of the most striking installations of the exhibition can be called "The fall of the author", 2021. Meldibekov created his monument and destroyed it.

"Over the past thirty years, there has been a wave of overthrowing monuments around the world. At the end of the last century and at the beginning of this century, it was the countries of the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe. The monuments to Vladimir Lenin were demolished above all," the author explains.

The installations are a visual embodiment of Yerbosyn Meldibekov's thoughts and vision on the politics of Afghanistan, Kazakhstan and other countries. Everyone who wishes may reflect on the themes raised by the artist at the exhibition, which is open until March 16.
