Just Stop Oil members continue their actions to draw attention to the problems of oil and gas extraction using the world's works of art in the world's leading museums and galleries, reports Art of Her.
Two eco-activists from Just Stop Oil spilled tomato soup over Vincent van Gogh's Sunflowers painting at the National Gallery in London. The incident occurred on October 14. On the picture, which is estimated at more than 84 million dollars poured two cans of soup.
According to museum representatives, the frame received minor damage, but the painting itself was not damaged. Both activists have been detained. Police are working on the site.
Just Stop Oil linked their action to demands that the British government immediately abandon all new oil and gas projects.
"The cost of living and climate crisis are caused by oil and gas," said representatives of the group.
Earlier, we wrote about how climate activists stuck to Boccioni's paintings and paintings in British museums.
