Teenagers and young people will be able to participate in interesting lectures, practical classes, urban expeditions and walks for free.
Atyrau, July 8 – From August 2 to August 20, Atyrau teenagers and youth from 12 to 25 years old will be able to participate free of charge in the "Open Studio" project, where lectures in the field of culture, science and art, practical classes, urban expeditions and walks will take place. The Open Studio was created by the YEMAA Center for Contemporary Culture in partnership with the Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia, the Chevron Company, and the Infinity plaza eco-park. The program of the event is aimed at supporting young artists in Kazakhstan, exchanging experience in the art environment and developing the creative industry.
Who will be the invited experts?
Participants of the "Open Studio" together with residents of the art residence "Frontier. Atyrau Chronicles" will be able to take part in educational workshops and lectures by mentors such as:
- Saule Dyusenbina - is a contemporary artist;
- Dmitry Morozov - is a contemporary artist, winner of the Cube Prize (France, 2014) and the Sergey Kuryokhin Prize (2013);
- Kulshat Medeuova — Doctor of Philosophy, Head of the Department of Philosophy of L.N. Gumilyov ENU;
- Diaz Adil - is a composer, music producer.
In addition, each resident is "Frontier. Atyrau Chronicles" will hold a master class, thanks to which teenagers and young people will be able to get acquainted with artists, ask questions and exchange valuable experience. Also, the participants of the "Open Studio" will immerse themselves in the world of disciplines of contemporary art, urban studies, cinema, philosophy, cultural studies and anthropology.
How to participate?
To participate in the project, you need to register using the link from July 8 to July 20. In addition to the form, participants will need to write an essay on the following topics:
For participants aged 12-15 years: "My city";
For participants aged 16-25 years (optional):
"Why do I love my city?"
"My favorite place in the city"
"What do I want to improve in my city?"
The essay can be submitted in Kazakh or Russian. The results of the competition will be announced on July 24. Details and details of the "Open Studio" will be sent to the selected participants by email.
