The Almaty Gallery hosted a choreographic performance "Touch of Art" of the modern dance theater "Samruk" dedicated to the International Dance Day, the correspondent of Art of Her reports.
The action took place in the center of the gallery's exhibition hall, where 4 sculptures formed different corners of a square. Any willing viewer could approach him and ask his pose, without any restrictions (everything could be touched, even the face). However, life left the sculptures, as soon as the audience departed, they returned to their original position.
Only the cosmic ritual dances of the modern dance collective "Samruk" could give life. Sculptures came into free plastic movement.
"My idea relied on the idea: the line is blurred between the audience and the artists. There are no wings, there is no orchestra pit, the audience is present on stage. He can feel the breath, see the flesh, feel the artist physically," said director Tomiris Mettybayeva.
It is important to note that the audience was completely different in relation to the artists: someone touched the bodies of strangers with trepidation and tenderness, and some were altogether too harsh.
"I imagined myself as a sculpture, tried to get rid of my thoughts as much as possible. At the moment when I was touched, I struggled with my emotions and gave myself to the flow of the viewer," shared the artist of modern dance "Samruk" Alexander Klishin.
In the second part, solo numbers by Adlet Tamenov and Meirambek Beisenbekuly were shown, in which they are the authors of the numbers. The choreographic performance ended with the number "Effect of Paints".
