An artist from Nursultan, Nastya Zharko, opened her first solo exhibition in Almaty, dedicating it to anxiety, the correspondent of Art of Her reports.
The exhibition "S.O.S EXHIBITION" is a rethinking and overcoming of feelings of anxiety in the artist's life, both in moral and physical senses.
"A woman with pink hair is the same anxiety that migrated from one picture to another. At the moment when I was experiencing this, the anxiety was for no reason. It was 2 years of anxiety and panic attacks, and partly thanks to art, I ended it," Nastya Zharko said.
In total, the exhibition presents about 13 works of the artist, on which she worked for more than 2 years. The main theme of Nastya Zharko's creativity is awareness. It is awareness that runs through all the series of her works. She packs difficult life situations into innocent images thanks to a special plastic language — "Hedvigs" — a fictional world of distorted characters, which was born due to the influence of visual pop culture and kitsch from the noughties.
"The name of the exhibition S.O.S is because I came up with the concept a year ago, and many people have had a heightened sense of anxiety and panic attacks over the past 2-3 years. COVID, wars, crises, etc.," the artist shared.
It will be possible to say goodbye to anxiety until August 14, 2022 in the photo studio "We are near".
Address: 144 Al-Farabi Ave., Almaty (residential complex "Mountain Sun").
