"ART BAZAAR": a journey into the Art Fair

The socio-cultural space “Dom 36” held the art fair “ART BAZAR” for the second time from 19 to 22 May, correspondent of Art of Her reports.

Inhabitants of Almaty had the change to dive into Kazakh, Kyrgyz and Russian art, where more than 50 exhibitors took part, for 4 days, from 19 to 22 May.

Art Fair "ART BAZAR" is an opportunity for artists (especially for beginners) to express themselves, showcase their artworks, to get acquainted and be manifested in the world.

“This is very important and needed by artists. Since, we have few exhibition spaces and few galleries and there are a lot of good, interesting, and cool artists. They have at least no opportunity to exhibit. About sales is pretty tough”, - said the fair organizer Evgenia Sabitova.

It should be noted, a format of acquaintance with art in a relaxed and light fair atmosphere is a good option for those who are interested in the contemporary art of local artists. Especially if you plan to buy a painting or meet a painter in person.

We have participants from Almaty, Karaganda and Nur-Sultan cities. There are also participants from Bishkek and Moscow, that make it goes internationally, but the capacity of our space is limited. It would be great for us to have sponsors so that we could give artists the opportunity to exhibit without rent” - said Evgenia Sabitova.

Within the framework of the fair, lectures, master classes and performances were held for 4 days. According to the organizers, the art fair «ART BAZAR» will expand and grow in favor of new artists and educational workshops and lectures.
