The first in the history of Kazakhstan design: the opening of the exhibition "In one breath"

The State Museum of Art named after A. Kasteev hosted the opening of the first joint exhibition of spouses Galina and Alexander Sadvakassov "In one breath", the correspondent of Art of Her reports.

Spouses Galina and Alexander Sadvakassov devoted their entire lives to creativity. Alexander – graphic art and book design. Galina – painting, graphics and design. The exhibition "In one Breath" has a unique status, being the first in the history of Kazakhstani design. A married couple has been exhibiting their works for a month in the central hall of the third floor of the A. Kasteev Museum of Art.

The works of Alexander Sadvakassov are known to all Kazakhstanis, they cannot be ignored. Since school, we have been surrounded by the art of the designer: covers of school books and literature, logos of favorite drinks and famous companies.

"Graphic design is an area of art that reproduces polygraphically. This is not so easy, considering that the works are applied to different surfaces (ed.: textiles, paper, metal, etc.). It’s not that complicated with painting, but it’s a complete abstraction (editor's note: graphic design). In painting we are dealing with a single copy, it's all chamber. And here it should be aesthetically beautiful, but besides, there should be technology for your art to multiply," Alexander Sadvakassov said.

Galina Sadvakassova-Tarasova is also engaged in graphics and design, but painting occupies a special place in her art. Galina's works are bright colors that convey subtle emotions filled with romanticism. For the artist, this is her debut full-fledged exhibition (previously Galina Sadvakassova participated in collective exhibitions), at which she presented more than 80 paintings.

"I give people joy so that people understand that the world is interesting, multifaceted. It is necessary to observe the laws of the universe, it is impossible to do evil. First of all, for me it is love. Love of nature, love of children, love of people. My creative path was not as simple and cloudless as it seems at first glance. Overcoming difficulties, without changing my principles, to be and remain as strong and confident in my choice, my family helped me," Galina Sadvakassova-Tarasova shared.

Despite the name of the exhibition "In one breath", the views of Galina and Alexander Sadvakassov on art are completely different.

"It's difficult. We have awesome arguments. When I sit down to write something, he tells me: You should already see your work (composition) before you put it on the canvas. Unfortunately, I have something else. I paint, I see something and I have an idea on an emotional level. He is rational, he does everything competently," said Galina Sadvakassova-Tarasova.

"We have arguments because she is my first art editor. I don't interfere with her art, that's why she has such lively and interesting works that are not complexed by public opinion. I give her more freedom, and she acts as my critic," Alexander Sadvakassov shared.

However, despite their different views, the Sadvakassovs radiate incredible rays of love. They are the proof that love and art will save this world.

The exhibition "In One Breath" is a postcard until May 29, 2022 at the A. Kasteev State Museum of Art.

Alexander Sadvakassov is a participant of international and national exhibitions. Member of the Union of Designers of the USSR (1990) and Kazakhstan (1992), Member of the Union of Artists of Kazakhstan (2011). Born in 1953 in the Amur region. He was awarded a government award — the medal "Eren enbegin ushin" (For labor distinction). He graduated from the N.V. Gogol AHU, T. Zhurgenov AGTHI. Alexander is the author of more than 300 graphic designs implemented in production. The main types of his creative activity include: posters, posters, outdoor advertising; logos, emblems, trademarks, corporate styles; publications, magazines, albums, catalogs and advertising posters; brochures, web sites; calendars, disks, discount cards; website design; book design; packaging and labels; paintings, graphics and prints. His works are executed at a decent professional level and demonstrate a high design culture. The artist was one of the first to penetrate, comprehend and creatively develop mythopoetic images of sun–like deities - petroglyphs of the Tamgaly tract. A new plastic language in the art of graphics of Kazakhstan was his work on the printed products of the International Music Competition "Asia Dauysy" (1992). He worked as an art editor in many republican magazines. Developed a system for the decoration of school textbooks. The conceptuality of the artistic and figurative solution, the clarity of the multilayer plastic language of A. Sadvakassov's graphics are deeply in tune with the primordial traditions of Kazakh folk art, as well as the sacred features of its spirit. A special place in Alexander's work is given to the Kazakh ornament. Currently, Alexander Sadvakassov is the head of the design studio "SadvakassovDesign".

Galina Pavlovna Sadvakassova-Tarasova was born in Chelyabinsk, Russia in 1957. Graduated from the N.V. Gogol AHU, T. Zhurgenov AGTHI. Galina's career began in 1980 in serious organizations as an artist, designer and illustrator. She actively participated in national and international exhibitions. Her creative activity has been repeatedly awarded with diplomas and awards. The exhibition presents more than 80 works of Galina.
