A personal exhibition of Botagoz Nurpeisova "The Origins of Beauty" dedicated to the motherland and India has opened at the State Museum of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after A. Kasteev, the correspondent of Art of Her reports.
Cordiality and childlike warmth are reflected in a series of works by Botagoz Nurpeisova dedicated to her native village of seafront in the Pavlodar region. The artist shares her most intimate –her maternal home. It is with these works that the exhibition "The Origins of Beauty" begins, the name of which subtly reflects the importance of the native land for each viewer.
"The exhibition presents works about the Pavlodar region (north of Kazakhstan). My family and friends live here, they live in harmony with nature. Against the background of the rainbow, against the background of the Irtysh. This is my native home, native village, native landscapes. Father, mother, brothers," Botagoz Nurpeisova shared.
The main theme of the exhibition is - India. The artist visited this mysterious country several times in search of enlightenment. In addition, Botagoz Nurpeisova is a great admirer of Nicholas Roerich, so it was important for the artist to follow in the footsteps of the famous artist to the Kullu Valley, where he lived his last years.
"Nicholas Roerich is a great Russian artist, traveler, scientist, thinker. I've been dreaming about this all my life. I wanted to worship the holy places where many higher beings have walked. This valley is famous for its legends and its historical authenticity. There are incredible cedar forests, landscapes, mountains," said Botagoz Nurpeisova.
The exhibition presents more than 80 paintings and graphic works of the artist. The painting "On the Bridge" is amazing in its philosophical content, revealing the innermost secret of the relationship between Teacher and student. The painting "Maitreya" is in tune with her, where a woman's prayer to God is depicted. "Maitreya" is a great Teacher of humanity, who gives a new Teaching and is an exponent of the Teachings of the Buddha."
"India has opened up to me from the beauty side. An incredible storehouse of wisdom, beauty of thought, beauty of action, beauty in everything. Every movement of the hands, eyes – everything is of great importance. Nicholas Roerich said: beauty lives in India," Botagoz Nurpeisova shared.
It is interesting that the exhibition also opened on the eve of the International Dance Day (April 29), and among the works presented in the exhibition, we see also dedicated to the work of the first and only professional performer of Indian classical dance "Bharatanatyam" in Kazakhstan – Akmaral Kainazarova – Honored Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
