"The exhibition is called "Reflections" because the last six months have not left anyone indifferent: January, events in Ukraine, and in general everything that happens in society and the world. We have become different, our values have changed. Perhaps we have turned from glamorous young ladies into people with our own civic position. We understand that there are other values in life, and the most important ones are peace, life, love. We wanted to show that a woman artist is also the eye of the people, it is also the creator. We have a lot of talented women," said Jamilya Taken, President of the Tan–Sholpan MNZHPH Foundation, artist, member of the Union of Artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In total, more than 90 works are presented at the exhibition. In the presented works, in addition to conceptual works on a social theme, showing the realities of modern life, there are philosophical reflections, abstract painting. This is also a national theme, reflected in paintings, tapestries and felt panels. The graphics are also represented by watercolor works, which are distinguished by virtuosity of execution and harmonious coloristic combination.
"We have been preparing for this exhibition for six months. The events that took place, they did not leave our artists indifferent. A woman also reacts to everything that happens in the world and in the country, because a woman is a heart, and the heart wants peace, kindness and harmony," Natalia Bazhenova, curator of the Reflections exhibition, artist, head of the Applied Arts of Kazakhstan Department of the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan, shared.
