Every competition is a new step of self–development: Lydia Drozdova told us about winning in the contest of MONDIAL ART ACADEMIA

Artist Lydia Drozdova told whether it is important to participate in competitions and what spirit participant should have.

Most recently, the International French Association MONDIAL ART ACADEMY announced the results of the annual competition called "International Art Professionals Awards" 2021. Among the winners were our Kazakhstani artists: Gulnara Dairova, Lidia Drozdova and Bakytnur Burdesbekov.

Lydia Drozdova, an art blogger, a figure of Kazakh art, presented her work "Time" to the competition.

"The painting "Time" traces the interrelation of the elder's reflections. This is our «atashka» or any grandfather. The picture describes how the years rush through all his consciousness, memories and he returns to a happy childhood. To those times when everything was cloudless, full of hopes, even – to his dreams. Over the years, disappointment comes around and comfort, even wisdom," Lydia Drozdova explained.

The winners of 2021 were chosen by the jury members. Categories presented at the competition: figurative painting, modern figurative painting, surrealist painting and symbolism, abstract painting, animalism, landscapes, portraits, watercolors, naive art, sculpture, photography, digital art and other methods. It is important to mention that only members of the MONDIAL ART ACADEMY can participate in the competition.

Lidia Drozdova told us that foreign craftsman and artists sent remarkable reviews like “I am glad that our human feelings are equally close to absolutely everyone, even though I live far away from Kazakhstan“.

Work on the painting

In the competition, the theme was not declared, so the artist could choose by himself. The artist gave her answer to the question asked by the Art of her journalist, whether it is necessary to prepare a painting specifically for the competition.

"Painting written specifically for the competition ... But why? You will have high hopes of touching the jury’s feeling. The judges are very different from one another, with all their daily challenges. Not mentioning their different age: some are over thirty, some are over fifty. The mindset is different, life situations are different. Their love to art genres and styles is also diverse. The only most touching work to majority of judges can win," Drozdova shared her opinion.

Another important aspect is the choice of category. Choosing the right category is very crucial, almost like a lottery, added an art blogger.

Is it important to participate in contests?

«Участвовать в конкурсах очень важно. Это вызов самому себе, проба своих сил. Каждый конкурс – это новая ступенька саморазвития. Что толку лежать и мечтать, сокрушаться: «Ай, зачем мне это нужно». Это для ленивых. Творческая личность должна постоянно быть в поиске. Талант невозможен без труда», – подытожила Лидия Дроздова.
