"They really liked, I think, the mythological part, because there is inner child in each of us, we all like to fantasize, look at pictures and see what we want to see. That's why I saw that many people spent their time in the mythological part, that's also why I wrote a booklet with explanations of the paintings, it seems to me that it was convenient for them to approach, touch," said the curator of the exhibition Zhaniya Yelubayeva for Khabar 24.

Zhanar Yerlankyzy delicately combines the historical past with modernity in her paintings. At the exhibition, images of shamans, zheruyyk, bayterek are side by side with the installation of video artists from the Oyu group.

Zhanar Yerlankyzy has been interested in drawing since childhood. From the 6th grade, she attended an art school in the city of Issyk (Esik). In the 9th grade, she was sure that she would become an artist. Following her dream, she entered college at the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T. Zhurgenova. Later she continued her studies at the university and then studied for a master's degree in the chosen direction. "Drawing is my favorite job," Zhanar noted.

"I have always been fond of mythology, mythical characters. Since childhood, I have watched many films and read books related to mythical creatures. When I moved to Sweden, I had the idea to draw and write about Turkic mythology, because in fact, the history is very rich and interesting," Zhanar said earlier in an interview with a correspondent of MIA Kazinform.
