The artist and concurrently chef Asiya Fatkulina returns to her origins – art education and tries herself in painting, the correspondent of Art of Her reports.
The works of the artist were highly appreciated by the Chairman of the Kazakhstan Guild of Art Critics Euphrates Imambek and the famous art critic Olga Baturina. Interestingly, Asiya Fatkullina herself began her career as a painter quite recently, but she has already managed to participate in collective exhibitions, and now she has made her personal debut.
"Why the return (ed. The name of the exhibition)? I have a long-standing art education, of course I use it in the work of a chef, especially it helps a lot in serving. But it was in painting that I came not so long ago, in 2013. I began to see the color differently, and I wanted to convey it. In the past, I was still fond of photography, and it seemed to me that I would not be able to reflect my vision in painting. And now I wanted to try, and so the exhibition turned out," said Asia Fatkulina.
The works of Asiya Fatkulina - are airy and vague forms saturated with drama and emotions. There are many references and deep meanings in the paintings. Every time you look at the works, you find new answers and surprises. Special attention should be paid to the paired paintings "Reflection", which are located opposite each other, "Prayer" and "Return". In total, the exhibition presents about 20 paintings by the artist.
It should be noted that Asiya Fatkulina - is a well–known chef in Almaty, who has compiled an author's menu for several famous restaurants in the city. The artist combines the art of cooking and painting.
"As a chef, I invent dishes. Let's say an artist is guided by colors when creating a picture, and I am inspired by color. In cooking, there is also a combination of colors, the redder – the more appetizing. What looks beautiful is perceived with great appetite. Serving - is a separate kind of art, I also always get dirty over it. One does not interfere with the other, the only thing - is the lack of time," Asiya Fatkulina shared.
The exhibition takes place in the Capellini Wine Shop (4YOU residential complex, 310 Rozybakieva str.) and will last until the end of May.
Admission is free.
