Esentai Gallery hosts a group exhibition "Dinner", in which young artists explore the topic of consumption, Art of Her reports.
Today, the phrase "We are what we eat" takes on a broader and deeper meaning. A person consumes not only food, but also books, television, the Internet, advertising, social networks, etc.
The group exhibition "Dinner" is a study of what a person consumes and how it affects him.
"I have one work presented here. It's about beauty standards. About the fact that now people see someone more beautiful than themselves on social networks or on the street and impose beauty standards on themselves. Because of this, people in the mirror see themselves worse than they really are," said artist Aziza Sabitova.
In total, more than 10 young artists took part in the exhibition, who presented about 100 works.
"Artists of a new generation have gathered here, this is their first brainchild. Through art, they broadcast an important topic of consumption. Problems of the Internet, problems of self–identity, problems of self-acceptance, etc.," the organizers of the exhibition shared.
The group exhibition "Dinner" will last until September 8, 2022.
