The Kasteev Art Museum has opened the first solo exhibition of the young artist Turbay Muratbek "SUR-AQ," Art of Her reports.

The exhibition features 27 embroidered works of the artist made in mixed techniques. Works Turbay Muratbek called a new author's approach in "painting" with a needle. Presented at the exhibition embroidered works, combining features of fine and decorative-applied art, demonstrate a fine artistic taste and high skill of the artist.

"The exhibition is called SÚR-AQ because I want to bring white, bright colors into our gray life. A lot of work is dedicated to children, different difficult situations in life and nature of Kazakhstan. This is something that has always excited me and reflected in my works."

Embroidery, known to ancient civilizations, today acquires a new character and performs not a ritual and mystical, but an aesthetic function. Turbay Muratbek believes that embroidery is not just a craft, it is magic, which transforms humanity, gives joy and fun.

Each piece of embroidery is designed not only to give the interior beauty, but also to represent some little story or reflection of the life of the artist. In this regard, the author creates complex compositions inherent in his spiritual world, filled with harmony and warmth of subjects dedicated to the theme of family, childhood, the wonderful world of nature and everyday quiet life.

"With this embroidery I wanted to show new directions. That you can do not only traditional embroidery, but also in other mixed techniques. You don't have to stop at something, you have to move on and implement something new."

The name of the exhibition "SÚR-AQ" has several meanings: literally, it is a combination of gray and white; conventionally, it means adding white paint to our gray life. On the other hand, the word combination «сұрақ» means question, that is, life itself is full of unanswered questions, the mystery of which is unsolvable.

"I want to say to adults, don't forget: children are children. Especially the older ones. They are not parents, they are not adults, they are not supposed to help. They should remain children. That's the most important thing."

Recall that earlier the editorial board of Art of Her visited Turbay Muratbek's workshop.
